I got a movie and im trying to convert the DTS audio into AC3 so i can play it on my TV. The process normally has gone quiet well, except Im having an issue extracting/demuxing the audio.

MKVmerge (extract) only demuxes the first 44 seconds.... Thats with v2.9.0 and v2.2.0 (because i orginally authored the audio using 2.1.0 and the oldest version i could find was 2.2.0) 8)

What are my options? is there an alternative to MKVmerge/extract? Im guessing something went wrong when i made the file, (even though it plays just great) so are there ways to 'repair' the file... possible edit the audio segment to 'appear' longer if its goofed in the XML somewhere?

    ....anyone?!

Try PopCorn MKV AudioConverter. It converts the dts to ac3. But it might use mkvtoolnix so it might not work...

You could try demuxing (or reencoding) with ffmpeg or mencoder
    sometimes they work.
