I don't believe this. I think I'm gonna be sick.

I wanted a song that I couldn't find on amazon.com or zune and I decided to suck it up and download the latest Itunes. My plan was to burn it to a cd and rerip to mp3 or wma after I bought it. THe reason being I had thought Itunes was still aac that wouldn't play on my zune.

So I bought the song and played it just fine in itunes. On a whim I popped open my zune software and I couldn't believe my eyes - THE SONG WAS IN MY ZUNE PLAYLIST!!!! WHAT THE F******???

This is really upsetting my digital allegiance and sense of right and wrong in the computer world. Apple working with Microsoft?

I mean don't get me wrong I think this collobration is good. Its just suprising. I'm sure video won't work since my zune only plays 320x240 wmv. It will take in mp4 video BUT it reencodes it. I don't know maybe I should it test it buy buying a video on itunes and seeing if zune will reencode it for me...... This is weird.... too weird....

Oh by the way the audio file was an mp4 audio file.....

I would assume it's due to the fact that iTunes songs are now DRM-free and the fact that the Zune is dying a slow, painful death.

Wait a minute - I thought you had to select "mp3" to download a drm free song. You mean they ripped it off their entire collection?

Zune offers mp3 downloads - however they are a seperate set - they still have drm'd wma's - also part of the zune pass subscription that I have and love - any album unlimited for 15.00 a month plus 10 free songs to keep and burn a month. - I have over 3000 songs on my 30gb zune - a bunch are mine of course but a lot I've downloaded whole albums with zune pass.

And about the death - I am actually really intrigued by the ZUNE HD coming out in the fall. I like that it has hd radio - something no other portable has (mp3 player that is - I"m sure there are dedicated hd radio portables but not integrated into a system).

And it has touch screen and a browser - All the zunes already have wifi - I have even bought and downloaded a song off my home wifi - this was before the iphone or itouch mind you (if I remember right - or very very close to the same time).
