  1. I have a DTS Wav (1.45Gb) file that I need to edit/trim/cut.
What would be the best program/easiest/efficient (commercial & free) to use since it is a DTS file?...

    Code:
    Audio
    ID : 0
    Format : DTS
    Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems
    Format profile : LE / 14
    Codec ID : 1
    Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
    Duration : 2h 17mn
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 1 411.2 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 6 channels
    Channel positions : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE
    Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
    Resolution : 24 bits
    Stream size : 1.36 GiB (100%)
    Thanks!

Tsmuxer is as you know for demux/mux, avchd & blu-ray transcoding.

I need something that will let me listen to the file so I can cut it where I need...

Tsmuxer also cuts dts files without needing any video files, most audio editors that cut while you listen will re-encode the dts.

    ah...ok johns0, your right.

Re-encode, ouch, sure about that, I mean its only playing the file, why does it have to re-encode it to only cut it? Its not changing its physical properties...

How about Adobe Audition, how do you change audio from 25fps >23.976 slowdown like with eac3to?

To go from pal-ntsc change the percentage length to 95.904% to stretch the audio.

  10. Using Adobe Audition 3.0.7283.0 portable;

    Effects/Time & Pitch/Constant Stretch?

Ok, I give this a shot, I do see now a preset "slowdown", but there is no % number to adjust exactly to.

    Constant Stretch
When you adjust the stretch % sliding bar, adjustment changes the length number & ratio to
998.185 length & 67 ratio for "slowdown preset"

Not sure if this is 23.976, 24, or what, will see what happens...

    Thanks!

  11. That slowed it down to like slow motion, not good at all...

Its standard length is 668.784, ratio 100%
Somebody out there has to be using Audition to to change 25fps > 23.976, anyone?

Thats the standard percentage for pal-ntsc,you didnt convert the audio right.

For adobe audition choose effects time/pitch-stretch/constant stretch and put 95.904 into ratio, select the pitch you want, than save as.Just ignore the presets. You can add the 95.904 as a pal-ntsc preset and use that anytime you want to do conversions

If you choose resample then use 104.270 for the ratio.

Actually If you choose "Open As", the next msgbox displays choice on sample rate, channels(mono stereo) but what if its 5.1???...
I think you have to extract to wav, Don't believe Audition accepts .ac3 files, and process ea wav separately.
How did you get your numbers?
    _________
I was using soft encode for making .ac3 files but now it keeps crashing(This seems to be very common w/no fix), besides eac3to, So I hear Sony Vegas Pro is better software to use to create .ac3 files anyway...

    Thanks!
