Having a Panasonic Viera LCD TV Model TX-L37S10B. It says that AVCHD and MPEG2 files can be played on an SD card inserted in the Card slot on the TV.
Can anyone please advise me how to convert MPEG2 files or convert to AVCHD so that they are able to play from the SD card placed in the TV.
I have tried MuiltiAVCHD but have had no luck with it. Is there any easier way of acheiving converting mpeg2 to AVCHD compliant to play from the SD card in the panasonic TV.
Is says it will play MPEG2 and AVCHD files has anyone else got a simular tv and got video files to play from the SD card.
Thanks in advance

The file spec sould be detailed in the manual.
The manual seems hidden from Google.
AVCHD is typically 1440x1080i 25fps and 8-17Mb/s
HD MPeg2 can mean many things but it probably matches broadcast spec.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Thanks for your replies....
Having used the only method of converting to AVCHD in site MultiAVCHD that I can find for panansonic SD viewing. It is not as easy or striaght foreward as I thought. Each conversion creates not a single file but several others ....
What I need is basic step by step guide of how to achieve what I now find is not just a simple task. The MulitiAVCHD guide is not that clear cut to me.
This type of conversion to a format needed to use it on my TV appears to very short in available info on the web in how to do it....as some reports of it being the way foreward.
I did get 2 files on a SD card to work, the first had a title and the 2nd did not, not much use if I ever manage to ever get 10 items on a SD card with only one title on the first item. Since then no luck in using the MulitAVCHD conversion system to convert other files.
With many of the lastest Panasonic TVs having this ability to view things stored on a much easier SD card system, getting it to work seems problematic to say the least.
Thanks again I will just have to keep trying. -

Perhaps if you took your original files and truly converted the format to AVC/H264 with SUPER, and then packaged it with MultiAVCHD, you may get better results.
For large, HD content, however, SUPER is slow, thus why I sympathize and I too would prefer a more straightforward route to playing files on either Blu-ray palyer or as in your case, an sd card. A basic guide is here https://forum.videohelp.com/images/guides/p1608146/basicsuperguide.pdf

I know that converting with super worked for a sony bravia with 720p res, 29.970fps, 2000kbps, mp4 container, h.264 codec, and mp3 audio@48khz/128kbps, baseline@3.1. It supports the same formats as the panasonic. But it never gave details on exactly what bitrate/profile etc.
Other programs I tried just wouldn't work for the tv even with the exact same settings. Seems like many models of tv's pre-2010 are very picky about format.
Just use super and test every combination until one works.
this is kind of a necro'd thread but this format thing bothered me for weeks until I got it working. -
