it looks like your vegas 9 pro install might be bad. i installed the fraps demo and then vegas will use your video. it will render as mc avc or sonyavc just fine and the custom tab works. here's the sample rendered as sony avc.

I really have to agree with poisondeathrays replys, that if you have FRAPS installed, Vegas should respond properly when your clips are imported into it if everything is working correctly. The workarounds are basically makeshift attempts that really shouldn't be necessary. This was more apparent when the tests that worked in Vegas on my PC, did not work on blecaps. When all else fails, re-install.
