I am attempting to capture video from a regular VCR using the Dazzle DV
Bridge.
I noticed that a small part of the bottom of the video being captured
appears to be garbled as does the left hand side. The bottom part is
more rectangular whereas the left hand side is more wavy and varies a
bit in the width of the garbled space.
I assume this is a common problem with video capture of this type. My
question is...what can be done about it?
Thank you.

In Virtual Dub use the crop tool before you capture. It can be set to cut out the problems caused by capturing from VHS players. I did some tests last night. You will have to set it for each capture since they may be different depending on the tape. The best way to do it is to set it while running the tape, then after the adjustments, go back and recap what you want. Your output file will have the correction done once you save it.

Thanks for the info. I had just found some other useful information which would apply, in general, to all platforms.
