Hello everyone. I am trying to archive my old VCR tapes from when I was a kid and am not having any luck. I believe that the problem is that the tapes and my player are NTSC where as my DVD recorder is a PAL system. When I connect the Coax connection on the VCR to the recorder, the picture is partially scrambled and audio is just fuzz - so recording is pointless. If I connect the systems via RCS cables, the DVD recorder tells me that it cannot record from this media. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get around this issue?
The exact hardware that I am dealing with are a Samsun DVD-HR773 recorder (European) and a JVC HR J630U (US - and nearly 10 years old).
