  1. Hello again !

This is my 2nd post here ..
my first post was "Simple yet Impossible !" which after being viewed by some 78 ppl still has no reply to its credit :)

OK here is my problemo, in detail now :

I downloaded a music video off the net .. It was supposed to be hassle free mpg file to be burned as a VCD .. when I tried burning it into a vcd via Nero .. it told me that its audio sampling rate is 48000 hz and it should be 44100 hz .. i tried demuxing, fixing the audio and then mulitplexing it again with TMEGeng .. but the resulting mpg came out to be very badly out of sync .. then I tried reencoding the file [the original downloaded mpg] with Flaskmpg .. Nero accepted it but now the file showed loss in picture quality ..
    SO MY QUESTION IS :

Can anyone tell me how to change the audio resampling rate of an mpg from 48 hz to 44 hz without re-encoding the entire file ?
or any other way of doing it so that there is no loss in picture quality ?

    Please help :)

  2. Firstly, demultiplex your video from your audio (e.g., with TMPGEnc MPEG Tools).

Secondly, decode your MP2 audio to uncompressed PCM wave (e.g., with Winamp's disk writter plug-in).

Thirdly, load up the WAV file with CoolEdit or some similar audio editing tool and downsample to 44.1 kHz.

    Save the audio.

Now, re-encode the audio to 224 kbit/s MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio (e.g., with TMPGEnc -- using the tooLame plug-in is recommended).

Then, use TMPGEnc to remultiplex the old video with the new audio...

  3. you could demultiplex the file and throw away the audio part then load original file into encoder but choose audio only then reencode audio only with tmpgenc but in the audio tab choose sampling frequency and pick 44100 htz go to main screen and press start and it will encode the audio to the way you want then just multiplex video and audio back together again hope that helps you

  4. even easier:
in nero, disable "standard complient cd"

you'll see it'll turn out just fine!

  5. Hey Michael Tam n Da Franksta :)

I have already used the TMPGEnc procedure ... but TMPGEnc just wont do the job ... it makes the video out of sync and also messes with the frames .. when I compared the File info using Virtualdub .. I found marked difference between the I,B,P frames of the original file and the TMPGenc generated one .. the result : Nero tells me that the stream is not VCd complaint.

in nero, disable "standard complient cd"

you'll see it'll turn out just fine!
Tried that too .. I got jerky sound and skipping video ! not watchable !

SO THE PROBLEM REMAINS .... UNSOLVED !

Turn off Nero's compliancy check and burn it anyway. It will work.
