  1. Instead of all this re-encoding stuff just to get your VCD's onto DVDR... Is it not possible to ( With NERO ) Select the 'DVD ROM' complilation.. and duplicate all the relevant files and folders that make up a standard VCD ( i.e CDI / MPEGAV etc. etc. ) and drag and drop them into your DVD ROM compilation and add your Mpeg VCD files ?

Its just that... ( Please correct me If I'm wrong ) I am under the impression that a blank DVDR is just a means to store a larger amount of Data.....

    Its just an idea........

  2. VCDs are not CD-ROMs and the physical layout of the thing is very important. For example, a hardware VCD player doesn't read (it doesn't need to) the actual filesystem on a VCD as you would on the PC. It gets all the video, still images, menus, etc., by directly reading predetermined physical sectors on the VCD.

If you just do a file copy of a VCD, it will not work, not even on CD-R/W media. Thus, it is extremely unlikely to work on a DVD-R/W disc.
