I know this question has been asked a million times.

I followed the instructions in this guide but it only shows me how to add the subtitles and doesn't show how to select different subtitle track. There are 3 different languages in my .sub file English, Chinese and Japanese. I want to select Japanese subs but in the preview it only shows default English subs.

How do I select a different subtitle track according to that guide?

  2. Use VobSubStrip to first get only the language you want and then follow the guide with the Japanese IDX/SUB file:

    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/VobSubStrip.htm

Another way is to edit the IDX to make the Japanese one the default:
    # Language index in use
    langidx: 0
If the Japanese language is the third language of the three, change langidx to 2.
