region codes/software for pioneer bdp51-fd

Trying to find region codes or software for pioneer bdp51-fd to allow me to play region free dvd's and blu-rays without having to buy any expensive remote controls , can any body help me in this matter!

There may or may not be a code to make this player region free for DVDs, but I've only heard of 2 BluRay players that could play BluRay discs from any region. One had a hardware modification to enable this. I don't know about the other one, but neither was made by Pioneer.

Making a BluRay player able to become region free for either DVD or BluRay playback violates the licensing agreement that the manufacture made with the BluRay group. The BluRay group has been pretty adamant about enforcing this, which is why it's so difficult to find players that can do what you propose. The vast majority of BluRay players cannot be made region free for DVD playback and like I said, I only know of 2 players that will also do region free BluRay playback.

Who dose hardware modification like you talk about

The Momitsu BDP-899 has been modified to support this:

The only other player that I've read about that can play BluRays from all regions is the Oppo BDP-83, but I know nothing about what is required. It has only been in the past few weeks that there's been talk about this working. From the early days of the player being announced, it was said officially by Oppo that this player would not be able to play DVDs or BluRays from regions outside of North America, but someone found a way to make it work. You can do the research on how it works if you are interested.
