Ok let's try this - post questions you have from movies that left certain things unanswered.

I was thining about the first Brandan Farser Mummy movie ('99). In the beginning the Evie character knocked the library books off the shelves. You never go back to that part of the library.

Since they came back loaded with gold did she even have to clean the library? She probably could pay a bunch of street vendors to do it for her. Also didn't the library head guy get killed by the mummy hordes halfway through the movie?

  2. 1) Bruce Almighty: What became of the monkey, and that poor man's colon?...Maybe I don't want to know.

    2) Cast Away: What ever happened to Wilson?

    3) The Breakfast Club: Did Bender actually go back to detention for the next eight weeks?

Thanks Yoda, this sounds like fun.

    Sure thing. Keep em coming.

Its just something that bugs you once in awhile watching movies. You know things like - what ever happened to that guy? Or why did they do this?

I was thinking more like this:

He floats to the Ice Age island & that little squirel that chases the nut around, forgets the nut & starts chasing Wilson around in Ice Age 3.

or as he is floating, a sword fish comes & pops him one.

Just saw the last part of Swing Vote with Kevin Costner. Who did he vote for and why?

Speaking of Costner. In Waterworld is there some unfinished business he had to attend to when he leaves at the end of the film or is he just being finicky? Does he ever go back to "Land" Ho?

In the movie "You've got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. (Yes it's a chic flick but I like it.) Late in the movie, Meg Ryan lives alone so she has to use a key to enter her building and needs another key or 2 (deadbolt) for her apartment. In the ending scenes she leaves the building wearing a dress made of a very light material with no visible pockets over which she has a short vest style sweater with no pockets either. She is not carrying a purse. Where are her keys?
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

In the first Matrix the kid makes the "woman in the red dress" for the training program to alert newbies that Agents can be anyone.

Who wrote the program for new ladies? I mean did they make some body builder guy walking done the street in the same scenario for new women trainees?

Forget all the rest of this crap. What I want to know is, can the Kessel Run be made in 11 parsecs or less?

another matrix question - when they are "unplugged' are they removed from the existing universe? Is it like Men In Black where they become "ghosts" so to speak. Just faint memories but nothing permanent?

LIke when neo goes back to meet the oracle for the first time and sees a place where he ate all the time and said (they have good soup). What if he went back their? Would they remember him?

What happens to his "virtual estate" so to speak? I mean his apartment, job and everything? Does the matrix correct itself when someone is removed and rewrite it so he was never there?

Isn't this implied by the deja vu effect? The Matrix fixes itself regularly.

    Possibly.

But it isn't implicitly explained like in Men in Black.

Good point I had forgotten that bit about the black cat.

If you've seen the Animatrix (Beyond), it pretty much explains that "glitches" and other such computer-type problems get fixed periodically.

That, and what ls said. Remember the whole thing with the Architect? There's been many iterations of the Matrix, each with its own Neo.

I do have the animatrix. It came with my Ultimate Matrix hd-dvd box set. I've only watched a few of them once. Maybe I should try watching all of them.

Yeah the architect speech in reloaded wasn't exactly a clear cut roadmap. But you're right. What did he say - the sixth iteration of the "one"?

    bump

Ok this doesn't exactly fit here but its kind of a movie "what the?" type thought.

I was watching the 007 Casino Royale again (the Daniel Craig version from the other year - he is STILL NOT BOND in my opinion but he's slowly growing on me and I did finally see Quantum of Solace and hes not that bad but not a "good" Bond to me).

One thing I noticed in Casino Royale was that he was in a security room at the beach vila and was going through the video recordings. It was no suprise to see them on recorded disc. HOWEVER the big surprise to me was that they were BLURAY RECORDABLE DISCS! Who in the world would have a High Def security recording system?

Wouldn't it be much more practical to be standard definition since its got a proven and reliable track record? I mean bluray has hardly been around long enough for real world longevity tests. I can't imagine some place would trust it for security recordings. I mean a bad burn and 'oops' that footage is GONE!

I know the whole reason its there is because it was a SONY movie and they wanted to push BLURAY anyway they could (even subliminally since it went by so fast you could only really notice it with a repeat viewing).

I mean that is kind of far out and not realistic (ok I know I just said the word REALISTIC in relation to an action movie like 007, I'm sorry....)

Here's another back to the future one - why would the doc be surprised when Marty tells him Einstein is his dogs name in 1985? Wasn't Einstein a household name by 1955????? I mean he makes it almost seem like he doesn't know the name.....

I just watched that trilogy again a week or so ago. I think Doc found it ridiculous that he would name his dog Einstein. From the look on his face, Marty could have said "Goofy McGumdrops".

Einstein had only died about 6 months earlier, in April 1955.

Well wouldn't he figure him worthy of naming a dog after? I mean if he named his "1955 present" past dog Copernicus after a 15th century (or whatever) astronomer why not a 20th century astrophysicist?

I just watched this scene with the director's commentary on and they actually address this. They say that he really is just surprised at that name with no explanation and that it might be a mistake on their part since Doc at some point watched the video that he made putting Einstein in the time machine. So he should have already known his dog's name was Einstein. The directors state that he must have just missed that part of the video.

When I watch the scene my impression is that he is scoffing at the name Einstein because the man is suddenly much less of an innovator to him. In this same scene you can see a picture of Einstein on his mantle along with all of his other lifelong heroes. He idolized the man. But Doc (the 1955 Doc) has just learned that his time machine works and that he has accomplished much more than Einstein ever did. He is basically snubbing his nose at Einstein, not so much being surprised that he would choose that name for his dog.
