It's a AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) card. But I'm not sure which slot version. You can pull the card and look at this page down a ways and see a slot comparison. I'm guessing it's a 4X or 8X card, but not really sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerated_Graphics_Port

I looked at NewEgg and I saw about 22 AGP cards there, so there are plenty available. Most all will perform better than that MX400 card. Once you have determined exactly what style card you have, you should be able to find a compatible one in your area.

It's 4x ... try stores in cabramatta / liverpool area's for best prices ... agp 8x supporting backward compatability with 4x.

Do not buy anything with "albatron" on it ... I had 2x nvidia fx5200's which didn't last the warrantee period.

  4. Be aware that some of the more powerful cards may overwhelm your power supply. And they will require power directly from the power supply via an adapter since your PSU is unlikely to have the right connector.

The geforce 6200 is a great card. I recently got one (256M) to replace on-board on an older PC for $25.

Thanks guys. I really value this info. I thought the MB was limited to a very week VCard. This VC is more than 5 yo. and never gave me problems, but it's no longer supported. Cnnot get updated drivers for it. The PSU is a 460W “Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus” with a 120mm cooling fan in it.

I'll start looking around. I'm not in a hurry.

    Thanks and Regards
