Are there any commercial software packages that allow for editing in other than 16:9 or 4:3? I have a VIO-POV helmet camera that records in a 3:2 aspect ratio (a true 720x480 with square pixels). I would like to make videos in that aspect ratio without cropping, letterboxing, or pillarboxing. I know I can use VirtualDub, but I'm looking for a program that will allow me to more conveniently add titles, transitions, etc.

Oops, meant to say 1.5:1 (or more simply 3:2) instead of 1:5 (will go and edit the original post).
I have Pinnacle Studio 12 and it seems to only let me work in 16:9 or 4:3. -
Is your ultimate goal DVD? If so, DVD only supports 4:3 and 16:9 DAR. Tell Pinnacle Studio your source is square pixel. It should then letterbox or pillarbox into a 4:3 or 16:9 DVD project. If you really want a 3:2 DAR, square pixel, 720x480 video you should be able to select a square pixel project in Pinnacle Studio.

Ultimate goal for those videos is YouTube and/or clips inserted in PowerPoint presentations.

attach a small sample of about 5mb here and i'll check vegas and pp to see if they can use your via-pov video. or a larger sample on a file sharing site would work also. if you need to cut a small sample try this tool.
