I just started to learn Premiere and found my AVI movie shot by Canon S3 can not be imported in Premiere CS3.
After the frustration on searching on the webs for the solutions, i still can not fix the problem of importing.
I am using Mac OS 10.5
Is there anywhere i could download the codecs to fix this?
PS: I know i can convert Canon AVI file into other format for ex. .dV but i have to many files to be converted....is there other ways?
thank you so much!

what happens when you try to capture?
There are no problems - only chances to excel.

it's not a codec problem. it's the motion jpeg format that the camera records to that is not supported at all by pp cs3, or any other high end editor. motion jpeg is not really suitable for converting to other video formats because of the jpeg compression artifacts.
you are most likely going to have to convert them yourself before importing.
