Looking at this solution for my capturing and editing.

I have a WIN TV HVR 1800 card. Will this software work with this card?

Do you know if you can capture straight to DVD MPEG 2? Also, can you configure your capturing options (bitrate, framerate, etc...)?

I want to use this for VHS to DVD conversions as well as capturing from TV

    Thanks!

I use this software myself...as long as you have a functional capture card it will work. But why on earth would you want to capture as DVD MPEG 2? If you want to convert VHS to DVD, you can purchase a stand-alone player for that...if you're planning to edit, that's best performed as AVI.

If you edit with VideoRedo mpg is the way to go. AVI is cumbersome and more work. Use a good mpg editor and there will be no problems and time saving too!
I use VS, but I edit with VideoRedo. VS is a good program.

I like to easily record to MPEG-2 so I can then edit with TMPEG DVD Author and put in the menus and chapters I want.

Cant get that customized with a stand alone player
