I have a JVC GZ-MG330 Hard dis recorder. Bundles software is PowerCinema v1.1, PowerProducer v3 and PowerDirector v5.

I just need a simple software that I can use to import the video from the camera to my PC then possibly just basic editing to the extent of just cutting a section from the file then post to YouTube for family to see. I also want to transfer all video taken with this camera to dvd.

Would a full standard version of PowerProducer 5 do the trick or was it be an overkill? What about Media Show v4 from the same company?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Being a HDD video camera recorder, can you just drag & drop the files from the camera to your desktop?

Mpg2Cut2 is pretty simple to use, free & does a good job.

After demuxing, use Muxman to author into DVD compliant files.

  4. I have never uploaded to youtube before, so I am not 100% sure, but i did check out the "Getting Started: Optimizing your video uploads" on youtube, & it says that youtube does except mpeg2 as an upload format, so you should not have to do anything more to the video once you have finished editing with Mpg2cut2, just upload the mpeg clip(s) to youtube, try it out anyway, I have added a screen capture below of the recommendation for video upload to youtube.
