I have several vob files, they are videos. I'm looking for a way to export the audio in a mp3 format? I've tried to use the Besweet software, but I don't really know how. This is its website http://dspguru.doom9.net/.

    Please help.
    Thank you.

  2. Hi

Check out video-de-multiplexers in the tools section, once you have demuxed the audio, you can then convert it to what ever you want with tools from the Audio Encoders section, hope this helps.

Which tool should I use? I'm so not familiar with this, and I don't understand alot of these video terms.

  4. Ok, sorry, I didn't realise you were new to this, anyway try DGMPGDec, this is a great tool for exactly what you want to do, it will seperate the audio from the video in the original format on the disc, once you have the seperated audio file, you can convert it to mp3 (unless it is already in mp3 format) with DAudioK, BeLight, foobar2000 etc, try and experiment with different tools. Just check out the guides for all the tools I have mentioned, guides are <====that way.

  6. Alternatively, you could use DVD Audio Extractor which is trialware, but might be an easier alternative to my earlier suggestion.

A two-step free option is to use DVD2AVI, which can extract the audio as a wav file. Then use a second tool to convert the wav into MP3. I use Audacity for most of my audio processing needs, but there are many other tools that will convert wav into MP3. Because Audacity is a general-purpose audio processing tool, you can perform additional, possibly desirable operations such as normalization (i.e., making the audio not too soft, not too loud), cuts/splices, speed up/slow down, etc., besides the conversion into MP3.

I assume you have installed the BeSweet Gui.

    In that:

    Choose "input" the VOB file.
    Next
    Output as MP3.
    Next
set the bitrate (128 or higher)
click "More options" for ... more options, or just
    GO.

It will extract the audio and transcode to MP3, creating a file in the same directory as the VOB.
Rename the file to something sensible.

If you click "Batch mode" you can choose several VOBs and convert together.

Actually, recent versions of Audacity (1.3.7) can read audio directly from VOBs (using ffmpeg) and save to MP3 (or almost any other audio format).
ffmpeg isn't installed by default, you have to do that separately. (see here for details.)
I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, though.
