im going crazy over here because so many of these dvd burners are rediculously complex with options i dont care to spend half the day reading up on what they are..i just want to burn a dvd.
i downloaded a movie.says its dvd copy, and it is dvd quality.sometimes i use mpeg to dvd because its simple but i decided to go with power2go on this particular burn.the movie is over 120 minutes, so the burner shows the amount of time exceeding what the blank disc can hold, but the disc says 4.7 gb so i know it has to work somehow because the movie is smaller than that.( why it doesnt show in GB's other then minutes is beyond me and just stupid because most people will get confused looking at the space bar being filled and wonder how the hell they are supposed to burn it when it says its too big of a file, but...anyways....power2go had an option i had to search for and it said it would automatically fit to disk.cool...so i chose that one( not know ing if its going to compress it or not or lose any quality , which would also be stupid because its from a dvd disc so it should burn onto a blank disc perfectly without losing quality.right?
but heres what messed me up...in the same options, there was a sound setting, pcm, or dolby..i chose dolby digital, (my dvd player reciever, and tv are new up to date and all have dolby digital capabilities so it should play fine.
but after burning the movie...i play it in my dvd player, and no matter how i switch the wires around..there is no sound on the disc at all.perfect quality movie, with no sound.not even when i play it in my computer, with vlc, gom, windows,,,nothing.
can some one please tell me WHY?
and why the heck is it so difficult to burn a simple dvd these days?
    what did i do wrong?
was picking dolby digital a bad idea?
    PLEASE HELP ME.
im ready to give up on burning dvds because its such a headache.
ive used at least 20 different programs and mpeg to dvd is by far the simplest easiest one click program anywhere i.m.o but i didnt find a auto fit option on that program and i didnt want to waste time or a disc burning if it was just going to be retarded and tell me that it wont fit on the disc when i know it will.\so i just dont know what the problem is and im already upset that this thing wasted one of my blank dvds.
HOW CAN I GET SOUND , and WHY IS THERE NO SOUND when i burn ????????ive never had this problem with other burners and i have over 100 movies burned so im lost here...
thanks for putting up with my little rant here...i hope someone can tell me what happened..

  2. wow another piss poor first post. welcome to the forum anyway.

    i downloaded a movie
and you want help here? try from where you got it from.

ohh.. they don't offer any, right? well your most likely illegal copy probably came in either iso or img format. imgburn is your friend. it's either a dvd5 single layer or a dvd9 dual layer disc image.

    uhh..NO...your WAY OFF...
..check your attitude at the door too.theres no need for that over the internet...
i dont care if you like my post or not, who are YOU?..the forum perfect posting police..lol
piss poor first post...why is that?...hell, you didnt realize i was asking a sound question.
im not new to burning....or to software...just new to NO SOUND.
    ..yeah..i downloaded a movie..
first off..its a movie from FXG, and its not a new movie its a movie already on dvd( which is where his copy is from )off of a reputable torrent site .
    it's an AVI file type.
its NOT dual layer to my knowledge.ive done this SEVERAL times and never had to deal with dual layer.
and ive used img burn several times.....this isnt about the software...
anyways...its not an iso or img.
although, power 2 go said somthin about converting to an img before burning,( i think it said that because of the size of the movie, ( iwas reading somehwere that said if its too big, try creating an iso or mounting it wit deamon tools but i dont want to go that route.it should able to just burn the movie straight up.
    ...besides....THAT WASNT MY QUESTION
    i asked about the sound..
WHY WAS THERE NO SOUND after choosing dolby option.im assuming the sound wasnt there because of choosing this option...ive burned movies before but never chose the dolby option tillnow..and there you have it..no sound..so why?
and i didnt check in another forum so as far as you saying check there..maybe i should if you dont have the knowledge i seek..
but either way im here right?
    so deal with it.
either help out with a smile, or dont help.
im going to find my answer with or without YOUR help anyways. 8)

Neither FXG or aXXo are reputable on our forum. But try dropping the finished DVD or one of the VOBs into MediaInfo or Gspot and see what, if any, audio format is on it. It sounds like your software messed up or the video had a problem before conversion. I would also check the original file and see what format the audio is on it.

And please read our rules before posting, RE: Warez.

  6. it is a poor first post because you don't include any info that would help answer your questions. you don't even mention what kind of format the downloaded movie is in. without details only the mindreaders here have any clue what you are going on about.

now like redz says use mediainfo in text mode on the avi (at least we now know that much) and post a screenshot of the information. and please blank out any reference to the actual name of the file.
