Didn't know where else to post this. However, I'm trying to watch a DVD with my computer (and output it to my TV), I've got an HDMI cable, everything is hooked up correctly. My only issue is, whenever I go to playback the DVD using Windows Media Player, I get fine picture, but no audio. And yes I've gone through the settings on Vista through the control panel to use my "Digital Output Device" and make sure that it's putting sound out to the TV and it is. However when I playback the DVD using Nero Showtime, I get fine picture and audio, except the screen "flickers" occasionally. Could this be a resolution setting issue or video card perhaps? Thanks in advance.

Software playing or Media Center is better for this. Moving you.

What audio decoder does windows media player use? you might have to check so it uses the correct output settings. If you use for example ac3 filter you can configure some settings.

Try also play with MPC or MPC-HC and see if you get any audio.

Configure your DirectShow AC3 decoder to use the digital output.
