I'm looking for a small notebook PC with firewire connectivity. There are a variety of notebooks with less that 10" screens but none that I have found have the ability to connect to a firewire device via a native port or a PC card slot that a firewire port can be inserted into. I want to use it as a monitor / capture device with my camcorder. I don't want anything bigger than around 2 pounds and a 10" or smaller display.

The Sony VAIO laptops are one possibility. They seem to have four models with 11" screens and I-Link (FireWire) inputs. And you might look at Toshiba for a bit less expensive laptop that may have those capabilities.
