Well, I have 2 XPS desktops at home with Windows XP. Desktop A is so messed up, I can't even open a virus or spyware program to do anything. So what I did was I cloned Desktop B's hard drive and installed into Desktop A. Now I have 2 perfectly working desktops.
I also have a notebook with Vista. All 3 seem to be functioning fine on our FIOS wireless network. My Belkin wireless adapter on one of my desktop keeps telling me there are duplicate names on the network. So I simply changed one of the clone's name.
What are the repercussions? I'm assuming if I try to network various peripherals, there would be roadblocks? For example, I can't get the cloned pc to network properly for wireless printing. Could this be SSID issue?
What can I do to give the cloned pc a unique identity? I'm not an advanced PC guy, but I get the feeling words like Mac address, IP address, SSID, etc. have a lot to do with my problem?
Thanx in advance!
