I've tried to figure this out on my own, but I really need some help or pointers in the right direction.

I have been using Super on a PC to convert MOVs to FLV for the web. I usually have to resize them as well. I have been trying to resize them to multiples of 16 for better playback.

I just got a MOV that is huge for it's length. 700 megs for a 3 min video. Does this seem odd?

The pixel dimensions were 720x480. Which don't fit the usual 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio. So in my research, I figured out that this was DV size and that it should be stretched or squished to the right aspect ratio. When I look at it, I think it looks squished, so I stretched it to 16:9 when I converted it to FLV.. but the guy who gave it to me says it is supposed to be 4:3. But when I resize it with super to a 4:3 aspect ratio it looks even worse than it originally did at DV size. I am manually setting the output size, can super do it automatically?

So I converted it with Super and resized it to 512x288.

But I also need to be able to do these on my Mac and I used ffmpegX to convert there as well.

When I upload the two videos into my Flash player (JWPlayer).. the Mac version plays back at 4:3!!! but the Super/PC version stays 16:9. But the Mac version plays on my computer in VLC 16:9.

Is the DAR flag being preserved in the Mac conversion? and being read by the Flash player?

What is the best process for me to convert MOV to FLV? I'm also not good with calculating the right bitrates. Is there a better program to use on the Mac?

Please any pointers! Also, is there anything the guy who does these in Final Cut should be doing for me?

    Here are the two videos:
    legalizecachaca.com (mac 4:3 version)
    and legalizecachaca.com/index-2.html (super 16:9 version)

Thanks. This seems a fairly easy app to use, but when I convert my MOV, it is just all black, no video.. only audio. I selected the default Flv profile and hit convert..

Edit. If I convert a mov file that is format avc1, it works.. but the one I am trying to convert is format: dvc and doesn't convert.
