I have a .mpg video file (mpeg-1 muxed) and .srt subtitle file. Both are named the same (except for the extension).
In QT Player no subtitles show when viewing the video. Under View>Subtitles, "Off" is grayed out.
Perian web site says it supports mpeg-1 and srt, but it's not working.
How do I get these subtitles to show?
PowerBook G3 / 10.4.11 / Perian 1.1.3
Thanks.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Have you tried demuxing the mpeg-1 through MpegStreamclip,
and then try rebuilding a suitable file in Quicktime Pro?
MpegStreamclip should demux the file fine,
and then you can basically rebuild the file
in Quicktime Pro, embedding the subtitles,
( or at least a link to the subs in the same folder
as the demuxed files) and then you'll have a playable file....."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
