Have successfully, added my native subtitles to a DVD and then cut it into several separate titles using DVD Shrink. I then convert the separate VOBs to .wmv with the Prism Video converter. The resulting video clips is linked into a .pdf document. However, the ability to select subtitle is lost when the .wmv is played back in Microsofts Media player. Two questions:
    a) Can I anywhere set my preferred subtitle as default assuming that subtitles still are in the .wmv -file
    b) Are there video formats, other than .wmv , that is better suited for subtitle selection when the video is played.

I don't work with WMV a lot, but I think I have an example with subtitles. However, WMV doesn't support them very well and I also have seen a lot of people just hard code the subtitles because of the problems.

    a) I don't know. Sorry.
    b) Well, good old AVI supports subtitles well, although many times people put them in external files. However, a lot of players, both software and hardware, know how to play back the subtitles from external files. It is possible to mux subtitles into an AVI container, but some software and hardware players can't play subs inside an AVI container. Also, encoding to H.264 is becoming popular and using MKV containers with subtitles in various formats seems to work very well.
