k i dont know what to do heres my issue and ive tried these suggestions maybe i am not doing them correctly???

so i ripped my vob files from an anime dvd onto my comp using dvd decrypter. i normally convert them to .avi using autogk up until i started ripping anime it has worked perfect i started out with a subtitle out of sync issue which i think ive got that down as how to fix but now my other new issue is that after i use autogk to convert the audio is out of sync

i have done the wmc trick with the - + and i am aware that ms is alot less than a second my the heres where it gets confusing to me so the anime im doing now is trigun the music starts to the opening credits at which appears to be the correct time some how and i dont know if my brian is just fried from being here for hours trying to fix but it seems that the music to the opening credits is cut short and then the characters start talking...well either way they start talking before the opening credits are done and i know thats not how it should be. any other suggestions or programs i can try

and also i am aware that you need to use virtualdubmod after you do the wmc thing thanks alot im so tired from this

i just realized something i dont know why or how this happens but the opening music in the .avi file is playing at a faster speed then it should but once they start talking (dialog) it goes back to its normal speed so no body sounds faster than they should be???

Start by re-ripping the files with something newer, or running them trhough FixVTS before giving them to AutoGK.

Test play the files on the HDD before you convert them to make sure the rip worked as planned.

Try AVI.net or one of the other tools to see if you have more success.

Do not load vob files into these programs. Always load the IFO files, as these hold information about the structure of the VOBs which these converters need to know about.

ok i stopped the conversion because it was at like 10gbs lol i want about 75% of original file so ill play with it but i click "in" which is open and it only gives me the option to load the vob files so it must some how get the info from the movie??

im a little nervous because the program automatically previews the video and it has the opening music but once the show starts it stops i hope this doesnt reflect in the end result but ill try the conversion...again[/img]

It must work out which IFO to use itself. You can probably drop your quant to between 2.7 and 3 and still get good results, but a much smaller file size.

if i use VOBmerge to convert the vob files will i be able to use autogk to make into avi to see if that works or u think ill be wasting my time?

  14. It'll be a waste of time to use VobMerge. You can load the first VOB and AutoGK will pick up the rest automatically. Or you can load the IFO if you want subtitles. If you're encoding the episodes separately you should be using DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode to decrypt each episode to its own folder before sending them through AutoGK.

ok i wont bother with VOBmerge then ive used autogk with the ifo to load the subtitles but the audio is out of sync and i cant seem to correct it i also uses avi.net didnt work i use dvd decrypter in IFO mode but the series is one big file i dont have option to rip each episode on its own im just going to give up i spent too much time on this ill download the files )= thanks for your response tho

Then decrypt by chapters. If there are 20 chapters and 4 episodes (just an example), each episode takes up 5 chapters.

Or do the entire thing at once and split them up afterwards. That'll probably be better since you want subs and splitting into episodes will make it tricky to get subs for every episode after the first one. I worked on Trigun a long time ago (a very good anime), and never had any problems with audio synch, so I don't know what the problem is here.

Kind of basic stuff, that. I use VDubMod. Set the video for Direct Stream Copy, mark the start and end points, and cut. Look around for a VDub(Mod) guide.
