  1. This is so weird. I made a few captures(from VHS), converted and burned. No problem. Yesterday I tried to capture (from VHS), the audio was way off. So I kept tweaking to get it in sync. On a whim I tried the capture with my video cards capture. No problem. But when I went back to tweaking the audio to match the video in Virtualdub and try a capture, there were only four compression codes(?) in the capture mode. No huffyuv, no pic video, nothing. When I launch virtualdub I checked in compression and they are there, huffyuv, pic video, etc. but go into capture AVI and set compression, they are gone. Anyone have any idea how to get the capture mode to find these compression codecs again? I tried downloading in the order I did before, but no go. Even though Huffy used alot of hard drive, I got the best video from captured VHS that way. I would like to use it again. I tried the search, but didn't get any help that way. Any suggestions?

  2. I use VDUB at capture too. With capturing from VHS
it's anytime problem, when played VCR it's another as record VCR
for this tape. Solve this problem is play tape at VCR = record VCR
or last help - capture with AVI_IO.

You probably changed the capture codec to something other than RGB or YUwhatever (YUVY, YU2 etc..). These are the only formats that compression codecs like huffy can work with. If you went to a proprietary format (eg ASUS's ASV2) then you can't do much else. Go to the Video / Format settings in virtualdub and check it in there.

    Good luck

  4. Okay, I think I know what I did. Going to see if it's the problem. Thanks if you are still here. I went to bed before you posted.
