  1. Since this player now comes with branding, unless you purchase a license.
Does anyone know of other free FLV MP4 player?

    Thanks!

  2. It's not that bad! The watermark only stays on for a bit at the beginning I think...

    You can try flowplayer

  3. Thankd fot the link!

Btw, I just noticed that the JW FLV player doesn't seem to work good for playing longer video files off the web.

Say for example, a 1 hour video presents me with the following problem.
The main player loads just fine, however when I click on the play icon, the loading animation stays for a rather long time. Even after waiting for 1 minute, the video doesn't start. Does the entire video have to load before JW FLV player starts to play?

This depends on many things, especially server setup. If it was setup as true streaming (rtsp), then no, you don't have to wait for entire download and you should be able to seek anywhere. Pseudostreaming is sort of in between and a bit buggy. Progressive download requires a bit to be downloaded before it plays, but seeking doesn't work until downloaded.

Also it depends if the play settings were setup on the server. Also depends on the server and client connection, and a few other variables...

Also if it was progressive download, it needs the moov atom placed at the front for it to start immediately. This is probably what you are experiencing. If you were using .mp4 container, you can use mp4box (yamb) and it automatically does this for you.

  5. Thanks again for the super quick reply there

Yes I'm testing on a GoDaddy host, I suppose they don't support rtsp.

So I followed your advice on using mp4box, managed to process the file but the output file ends up doubling in size from ~40MB to ~80MB. Is this normal?

  6. Nope, it should be the same size (or very close)

Provide more information on the input file, use mediainfo

Maybe try YAMB, the gui for mp4box
