I have a Samsung 19" LCD monitor security system with built-in digital video recorder.
It records video from the cameras to a HDD. I'm able to FTP into the system and when it saves a video it records it into 3 different files.
.g723 . mp4 and .mp4i. Non of the files play in mplayer or any of my other players, does anyone know what format these are actually in. I wonder if they need to be combined in order to work?

most security video is recorded as encrypted so you can't play them in anything but their own player with the proper password. they all have a way to export un-encrypted video after the password is entered on the system.

unfortunately this product only lets you archive/download a small segment at a time in 1/2 size. So there is no real way to move the full size video off the unit?
