Can someone help please? In the past, I have recorded DVD data discs with avi files on them & they play back fine on my 2 DVD players.
Now I am burning 720p HI-DEF DATA D/L discs and they play fine on my PC...but of course not on my current DVD players. Will they play on any BluRay player.....not sure what to look for or buy. I hope someone can help. Many thanks. artmcclin

If you use avchd it should play on most bluray players including the ps3.
But as jagabo mentioned a media player that connects to a harddrive might be a more attractive option to you. No discs needed. Just transfer the compatible file and your all set to go.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
There's also mod firmware for the WDTV that supports external USB DVD drives (not for movie DVD, just for UDF/ISO data).

It is unlikely artmcclin is downloading AVCHD files.
