  1. I have a H264 .avi file which is formatted with a ration of 16/9. The problem is that the audio is English - which I want, but it has hard burned Asian subtitles. Fortunately all of the subtitles are in the lower, black, letterbox portion of the screen, so if it was possible to 'cover them up' or blank them out that would be perfect. Is there anyway to do this easily to a whole 90 minute video?

    Thanks.

You can do this easily in AVI Demux, which has a filter that overlays a black border. However this will require a complete re-encode of the video, which will take some time and risks reducing the quality. The filter you want is called Blacken Borders.
