This is great, guys! I've got more information that I expected when I first posted the thread.
By the way, jagabo, where did you find the information on the Fry's home theater? The Onkyo 7.1 system for $494?
I am actually in the middle of moving out, and I think that there is a Fry's near where I'll live.
    Thanks again!

It was in the Fry's ad in the local paper.

I'm not sure which Onkyo system it was, but if it's this one (HT-S5200) http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-S5200&class=Systems&p=i it won't do audio over HDMI.

Without that you'll still get all the normal Dolby Digital, dts, etc audio on DVDs and even Blu-ray if you connect a coaxial or optical cable. You just can't get the higher quality, lossless audio on Blu-ray like Dolby TrueHD, dts-HD Master Audio, and PCM tracks.

It also looks like there's no On Screen Display for setup. Without the OSD on your TV, setup is just a bit more of a hassle...gotta use the receiver's little display.

  4. Hnfortunately, Fry's usually doesn't show model numbers in the ads. But the little picture looked just like the one redsandvb linked to. In any case, the ads no good anymore (it was only valid Friday to Monday). But there's stuff like this every weekend.

Well, I just moved and here there is a Fry's for sure, among many other stores. Now it'll be easier to purchase the home theater. Thanks again, guys!

Just read about another Energy deal, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882269004&nm_mc=AFC-DealNews&cm_..._-NA-_-NA-_-NA + coupon code Energy713 = $150. Those and one of the cheaper subs from http://www.thespeakercompany.com/Subwoofers-C17.aspx come in at $300 or less, not too bad to start. Still need a receiver though...

Just found out about another Newegg deal, the Pioneer VSX-919AH receiver for $320. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117301&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL070909...E1A-_-82117301 and coupon code EMCLVLX22. Pretty nice deal. It gives you Dolby TrueHD, dts-HD MA, even a front USB port and cable for ipod/iphone w/ album art support, etc.

I think the code expires soon, though, like a day or 2 or something...

    Pioneer's page, http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/AV-Receivers/Pioneer...X-919AH-K.Kuro

    And a review I found, http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/Pioneer_VSX-919AH.shtml
