Yes... HOW? I tried After Effects but that didn't work out either...

Does anybody know how to do this?

  2. Unless something has changed in Vegas Pro 9 (I'm still using Pro8), I find you generally get better results in After Effects.

While the "best" solution is to shoot in higher fps, Vegas will frame blend the duplicate frames - so the results are pretty smooth, but not entirely smooth. AE has the choice of straight duplicate, frame blend, or pixel motion which is usually the "smoothest" (construct entirely new frames frame forward and backward frame)

Another option, if you know how to use avisynth is to use MFlowFPS() from MVTools2, which can give similar results to AE's pixel motion , and sometimes even better if you tweak it correctly

  4. Most common way in Vegas would be to use a velocity envelope. Insert=>video envelope=>event velocity , then right click to add new points and move the line up/down to adjust the velocity. If you right click the track , select properties, you can adjust the playback rate as well. The other way is if you ctrl+drag the length of the clip you can also adjust the length and playback speed all at once; e.g. so if you stretch it out, it will be slow mo, but will have blends as mentioned earlier so it won't be as clear. Not sure if they have changed in vegas 9

You download and install AviSynth. Then download and install the needed filters -- MvTools (other filters might be required too). Then you create an AviSynth script with a text editor (or a GUI tool like AvsP) with the correct script commands. Then you open that in your encoder (I think Vegas needs a special plugin for this) and encode.

If you cant get smooth enough slow-motion using after effects and pixel motion then you are doing something wrong.

How much slower are you trying to make your footage?

  10. If by "200 % slower" you mean half as fast: if your source is interlaced a simple bob or smart bob will work just fine.
