    I am trying to rip the movie "Pineapple Express" using the program VOB2MPG, however I keep getting the rip with the audio commentary (the disc contains both theatrical and extended edition).

    When I put the disc in, DVD43 decrypts it, and then I choose the Video_TS folder with VOB2MPG. After this I see multiple title selections. I go with the largest one thinking this is the extended movie. It has 4 different types of Audio:

    DEF: [80] English 'AC3' 6 chs
    [80] English 'AC3' 6 chs
    [81] Francais 'AC3' 6 chs
    [82] English 'AC3' 2 chs

    Any of the ones I choose the audio commentary comes along with it.

    At the bottom of the list of choosable titles, there are 3 other titles with the same time stamp of 01:52:21.12. When expanded, each one has the same chapters of the movie in it. I have no idea what these titles are for, but I have tried ripping them too and same result of the audio commentary, plus when played in WMP, they say they are only 5 minutes in length, however, when time jumping near the end it shows at the end of the 2 hour movie as opposed to the end of 5 minutes.

    Please let me know what to do in order to get rid of the audio commentary. Could this possibly be a copy protection issue that DVD43 is not hitting?
    Thank you,

    Yep more than likely. Try ripping the movie with dvdfabhddecrypter (which is updated all the time) then try using vob2mpg.

    Do you mean use dvdfabhddecrypter in conjunction with VOB2MPG instead of DVD43, or do you mean rip it with dvdfab altogether?
    Thank you,

    WMP is a crap DVD-Video player.

    If the VOB set contains multi audio, many players will default to the first stream. In this case, I bet it's the commentary track.

    Use DVDFab (I believe the name "dvdfabhddecrypter" was dropped at version 3 or 4) in free mode, and rip the disc that way.

    I'm currently working on beta testing VOB2MPG, pro version against free version, because I also ran into several goofy errors on the free version. I don't blame that software, because I've not had time to isolate the issue (it's why I'm testing, right?). It may be crap authoring.

    Ok I'll give that a shot, didn't know it was a player too. Would you happen to know since you are putting all the vob files in a single mpg, can you still have access to change audio and subtitles and stuff like that?

    And if you wouldn't mind, would you let me know what you find out on the comparison of pro vs. free?
    Thank you,

    Rip it to your hard drive then run vob2mpg on the files on your hard drive.

    As far as I know the free is pretty basic. Just does the basic extraction from vob to mpg. Thats all I need. According to the author's website the pro version offers many more features.

    With control being the key, VOB2MPG Pro features include:

    * Choice of titles to extract
    * Choice of chapters to extract in a title
    * Ability to re-order chapters
    * Handle vob id changes in a title
    * Handle timetstamp discontinutlies
    * Handle DVD angles
    * Title and chapter preview
    * Audio stream preview and extraction
    * Plus much much more
    For appoximately $17 if you are going to be doing this often it seems like a very good purchase.

    Oh wow, thank you so much for suggesting DVDfab, becuase that seems to have done the trick save for one issue.

    I'm having trouble getting subtitles to stay off. I un-check them in DVDfab presets before ripping, but they still show up and I'm afraid when I put this on a mobile device it will have these and I can't turn them off.

    Any suggestions?

    And thank you again for all the help.
    Thank you,
