I'm not too familiar with editing in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 so I'm having trouble viewing a 12 minute video clip within the program.

When it plays the video is very choppy and ends in about 10 seconds while the audio starts and ends a little later.

The video file is contained on a Mini DVD-RW disc and is contained within a VIDEO_TS folder.

Inside that folder there are multiple files (3x MPEG-2 files, 3x BUP files, and 3x IFO files).

If pictures will be more useful I can give them,

    thanks

Copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the mini dvd-rw disc to the hard drive before opening in Vegas.

Alright I converted it with vob2mpg and it gives me a nice, neat MPEG file but when I put it into Vegas I get the same thing...

In the timeline (track view) on Vegas, when I zoom in I see the correct frames but it still does not play properly.

I also get "Media Offline" in the timeline occasionally

  8. there appears to be something wrong with your computer or vegas install. dvd spec mpeg-2 should play fine.

try the task manager, crt/alt/del - click on processes and click twice on cpu to bring up what is hogging your cpu while trying to play the video in vegas.
