There was much discusion about Sandra memory benchmarks in another thread, I go it sorted out and would like to share, & I as a little bit of a AMD fanboy will have to say that I have to take my hat off to Intel for coming up w/ "Tripple channel"

orange = Intel X58 DDR3 1866 in "tripple channel" pricey, but that is as high a bandwith as you are gonna' get

Intel X58 w/ DDR 1600, DDR 1333 and DDR 1066 in triple channel are all the next fastest

blue = AMD 790FX chipset w/ DDR3 in "dual channel" (AMD's best bench in the database exact speed not known and best dual channel benchmark)

violet = the best Intel X58 w/ DDR3 1066 in dual channel (Intels best dual channel benchmark)

red = my system w/ AMD 790X DDR2 1066 in dual channel

green = Intel p45 DDR2 in dual channel (Intel's best DDR2 bench in the Sandra database exact speed not known)

AMD's chipsets have the best benchmarks in the database w/ DDR2 and DDR3 in "dual channel", but when Intel shifts into tripple channel gear it is a BEAST

That my friends is the full story, not sugar coated for fanboys on either side
