  1. I know I can use Subtitle Creator to write my own subtitles, however, it seems difficult to deal with the timing in which the subtitles will appear and disappear. With Subtitle Creator, you have to type in the time when each subtitle should appear and disappear. I am wondering if there is another software that allows you to play the video in a software player and just click the mouse to set each subtitle timing.

  2. The one I'm most familiar with is SubStation Alpha. You load an 8-bit Mono WAV file and you can click the mouse on the WAV (while or after playing it) to set the start and end points for the lines of dialog. When you click on the link, check out the pic to see what I mean. I do this all the time (like almost every day) when creating or editing subtitles. I'm sure that other subtitling programs can do this or similar. You might also give Aegisub a try. So, with Substation Alpha you play the audio and not the video to set the start and end points. Perhaps Aegisub allows the use of the video.

I prefer VisualSubSync. Aegisub is not bad either.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

DivxLand Subtitler, it cant be any easier than this.

1- Write all the dialogue present in the video in a txt file

2- load video and txt in divxland subtitler

3- press and hold a button for the duration of a "line" while watching and listening to the video

    I use it almost everyday
I love it when a plan comes together!

One of the advantages of Aegisub over SubStation Alpha is that it will work with the wav files of the production without downsampling to 8-bit mono. I've been very impressed with how well the subs stay locked in sync and export to a variety of sub file types.
