Do they make DVD double layered media in -RW format? I have need of such a beast. I like to record movies off TV and edit out the commercials, but most movies w/commercials are over 2hrs long, and my resolution suffers because I have to record in LP mode due to the length. But by the time I edit out the commericals, we're usually down to under 2hrs. If I could record in SP mode with -RW, then edit and reburn onto -R, then my problem would be solved.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm not able to record directly to PC. That would have been the easiest fix.

Get a dvd recorder with a hard drive, roughly edit out the commercials there, and transfer resulting shorter length to a dvd , or get a capture card for your PC.
