I need help with extracting a soft sub from a show and then do a hard sub

It's basically what i have written on the title, i need help extracting a sob sub from a show and then do a hard sub instead. Can anyone guide me through the process or is there any software out there that can meet my demands?

I tried looking up at the forum archive, don't really understand most part out there.

Would really appreciate if there is anyone out there that can guide me through the process =).

In what format is this 'show". Is it a DVD?

In which format do you intend to hard sub the video?

If the source is DVD and the intended output is XviD or DivX AVI, then AutoGK is a program that can easily do what you want.

The format is MKV and i intend to hardsub it onto a Mp4 video.

Extract the subs using mkvtoolnix.
Load the mkv in xvid4psp and load the subtitle file.
Choose a mp4 profile.
Convert.
Done.

oh yeah, i got another question, how do i remove an AVI hard sub?

You don't, unless you're willing to reencode the entire thing with the bottom part of the video that contains the subs entirely cropped out or covered up.
