Srt encoding

I have followed the text to the letter. I dragged over my avi, then went to filters, and load subs. The checkbox was greyed out however. Also they show a box that says vob enable subs..where is that? I have version 0.0.9y. I also chose the target format DVD under summary and dvdffmepg in the dropdown. But using preview..still nothing. I noticed my dilaogue box doesnt look exactlt like the one in the manal. even tho it seems to have same info. I have uploaded image. Thanx[/img]

The checkbox was greyed out however.

This is normal for ffmpeg presets, as these settings do not apply here (only for mplayer/mencoder/mpeg2enc presets).

Also they show a box that says vob enable subs..where is that?

Who are 'they'? Where do they show a box?

But using preview..still nothing.

Notice how your screenshot shows two Preview buttons. The one in the upper right is for playback of the media part that already has been encoded, while the encoding is still in progress. The one in the bottom right is for previewing settings before actual encoding takes place.

For conversion to DVD with selectable subtitles, the subtitles are handled after the video and audio are encoded. The log wouldn't show it until it reached the video-audio encoding summary (video: xxxxxx kB audio: xxxxxx kB global headers: xxxxxx kB muxing overhead x.xxxxx%), where your log isn't at yet.

The encoder doesn't do real time dependent stuff here, so you'll have to check the output file if this underflow had any negative effect. Perhaps the output is fine?

The log doesn't show an end, like an unrecoverable error or a 'finished' message, so the encoder may still be busy? Wait for it to finish.
