  1. Anybody help?

When trying to encode .avi files to MPEG that have been downloaded I get an error message stating-Audio stream has unsupported format or compression type.

This has happened with every .avi that I have downloaded and because of this I can't burn them to VCD.These .avi files all plays OK in Windows Media.

    Any ideas anybody?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I had the same problem and it has to do with Type 1 vs Type 2 AVI file format. Virtual Dub won't read type 1 either. I tried a converter (DV converter) but that didn't work either. My solution was to use TMPGEnc. It didn't complain at all and converted just fine. After spending the money on the LSX converter I felt a little disappointed with this limitation.

  4. also LSX ONLY accepts pcm audio.... so if it's a clip you downloaded you will have to convert the audio to wav format first....
