I just bought a Mac Book. I want to capture live video from my canon GL2 camera using Imovie. I know that it automatically saves it as a .dv file. I then want to move the file to an external HD and then open the external HD with my PC (Vista) and use Studio Pinnacle 11. However... Studio wont recognize .dv files! So what can I do?? I will have sometimes 5 hours of video to maybe 35 hours of video when I capture! Is there software for mac that I can capture it directly as an .avi? Then my PC would easily be able to open it! I really dont want to convert .dv files becuase I am sure that will take a long time and I might lose quality! Quality is a must for me as well! Please help me out!!! Tonight was the first time I have even used my MAC!
Thanks,
Blaine
