  1. Hi!

Is it possible to do selectable subtitles?
I have used the frameserver way with virtualdub and tmpgenc to build in the ssa file, and that works just fine. But is there any way to support multiple languages or a switch mode between subsON/subsOFF.
It's all down to when I want to create a vcd (to play in your dvd-player) out of an avi.

VCD does not support selectable subtitles. SVCD support it. Have a look at the guides at http://www.vcdhelp.com and http://www.doom9.net

www.doom9.net has (S)VCD guides as well. You can create SVCD with selectable subtitles with I-Author (does not create philips style, i.e. "real" SVCD subs), Philips SVCD designer (requires WinNT) or submux / VCDImager 0.7.12. Get submux.exe from the DVD2SVCD homepage.

I scan the sites you gave me.
the http://www.geocities.com/stanwebber/sub/sub.html homepage show the using of avi2mpeg2 to encode instad of TMPGenc.
It seems that in this way the TMPGenc would not (or could not?) be used. Am I wrong ? I would like to use TPMPGenc profiles...

If it's not possilbe, does it depends for the two audio multiplexing or for the subtiles ?
The page http://www.vcdhelp.com/comparison.htm does not report about avi2mpeg2. How is it, compared with TMPgenc ?

    Thanks in advance.

No, there is nothing about a encoder. Use bbMPEG to multiplex the video and audio stream(s) only. Of course you can use any MPEG encoder. Well, bbMPEG is rather a poor MPEG encoder, but one of the best multiplexer.
