    Hi.

I want to convert dts-hd or truehd sound into simple dts sound to every .m2ts or .ts files that is blu-ray rips movies.

Is there a way to do it without losing any quality of sound or video of the movie.

    A lot of thanks.

Nope. DTS is a lossy format, and you will lose quality. This audio conversion has nothing to do with the video quality

Which is the main difference of dts-hd or truehd with dts?

And how i can convert dts-hd or truehd to dts with less lose of quality?

  4. dts-hd ma is higher quality, lossless (bit identical to the master). You can really tell the difference if you have a high end audio setup, you might not be able to tell if you have an entry level setup

There are no free methods to convert dts-hd to dts, you can use eac3to + surcode , or dtspro series

You can convert to AC3, but not DTS (directly in tsmuxer, or using eac3to; eac3to is better because it fixes audio overlaps and gaps). There is no free DTS ENcoder

I know that i can convert to ac3 from truehd or dts-hd with tsmuxer but ac3 is must, must worse than dts.
I want to find out an easy and quick program that converts truehd or dts-hd to dts sound is there any kind of program?
Yes but eac3to is more difficult and optionable program that it wants many, many options to start the conversation.
And if there is which is it?

  8. eac3to is very easy to use, just 1 command line. There is nothing easier. All the other programs require you to input 6 mono wavs with multiple steps

    eac3to input.dtshd output.dts

Ok tell me the steps what exactly i must do to make dts-hd or truehd ro dts with the program eac3to.
This program is slow or fast?
    A lot of thanks.

  10. I just did. Just type the command line e.g.

    eac3to input.thd output.dts

You should also try [search] this topic has been discussed many times before...

Again, you need surcode or other dts encoder installed to encode to dts or it won't work

I am not an eac3to expert, but I thought to just extract the DTS core from a DTS-HD track required no special DTS encoding software.

    eac3to input.dtshd output.dts -core

is the example I found on how to do it. This seems to be what the original poster wants to do.

  12. ^yep sorry I confused dts-hd for thd, extracting the core works for dts-hd but not thd or any other of the blu ray hd audio formats

You can even extract the core with tsmuxer directly from dts-hd, but it doesn't fix gaps or overlaps as well as eac3to.

The last time I used (and gave up on) eac3to it did not down convert DTS-HD to DTS or True HD to ac3 although there was a box to check giving the indication that this program had this capability, or @ least they were working on it, after I double checked the output file it was still HD, has been resolved?, I do not know

However TsMuxer has been properly downconverting both formats for quite some time, & fixes overlaps

Yes but tsmuxer unfortunately it doesn't convert dts-hd or truehd to simple dts only to ac3.
I want an easy & quick program that did it that.

You got bad information bro, TsMuxer downconverts True Hd to ac3, and downconverts DTS-HD to DTS

I have downcoverted WELL over 100 movies, I know what I am talking about

chit, they fixed that back in 08' lmao

Only thing it doesn't downconvert is LPCM

Give it another try w/ the latest version

That's thd, not dts-hd . It only converts thd to ac3. You can only extract the dts core from dts-hd.

For every other hd audio type, you have to encode it to dts e.g. using eac3to + surcode

Here is an example from dts-hd

You will get the choice to downconvert DTS-HD to DTS when you load a movie into the program w/ DTS-HD bro'

DTS HD is core DTS + extra info, TsMuxer just strips away the extra info turning it into DTS

True HD is core ac3 + extra info, TsMuxer just strips away the extra info turning it into ac3
