I cut videos with Adobe Premiere 6.5 and now got a Sony Camcorder HD AVCHD. Can't use Premiere anymore and I understand making a HD-DVD is not possible. Do I have to Blue-Ray? Is the other option to convert AVCHD to MPEG2 (with loss of quality) and work the old way?
Sorry for silly question. I'm new to HD
    Thanks for your help

You can burn it as avchd on a dvdr and it works on blu-ray players with avhcd support(and computers also).

I would try latest tmpgenc authoring works or ulead videostudio or Vegas Movie Studio...or doesn't the camera include some editing software?

Premiere CS3 or CS4 for the editing now --- TAW for easy authoring.

You are using PP 6.5? Well of course you cannot edit HD. I recommend CS4, it is what I use. I use Encore CS4 for authoring. Easy drag/drop interface, Burn, done!

Thanks for your answers. I gess since I don't have Blu-ray, I'll have to transform the HD format into MPEG2 and work as before. I did get, with the camera, a software which allows cuts in HD format, but it is not as sofisticated as Premiere 6.5 or Pinnacle. Correct?
    Thanks and regards
