How does one create/find graphic and motion avatars?

I've seen some unique and cool avatars for members... some change logos, others have motion, some are just graphics (no inside a rectangle (like a picture).

who knows where I can find options, create my own?

One place I have used is Animation Factory: http://www.animationfactory.com/en/
There is also a gif editor on that site: http://www.gifworks.com/cgi-bin/af_gifworks.pl?site=&com=transfer_open You can upload your own gifs there and edit them, then save them to your PC. Or several graphics programs can produce animated gifs with a transparent background for avatars.

We have some restrictions for size on our site:

Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, a height no greater than 80 pixels and a file size no more than 10kB.

You can also do a internet search for ' animated gifs ' The animated gif I use as a avatar is two gifs that cycle. Very easy to create, though I didn't make that one.
