BD-Rs are not recognized

Hello.
I have a SONY HD AVCHD Video Camera Recorder model HDR- SR10
I filmed on HD mode.

When I try to burn onto a SONY Blu-Ray BD-R (blank) DVD I get this error message, " Cannot write to this disk. Insert a recordable disk" I put in 3 disks to the same result. I also put in a LG BD-RE (blank) Rewritable disk with the same result. My Blu-Ray burner is the LG Black Super Multi Internal Blu-ray Disc Burner & HD DVD-ROM Drive SATA Model GGW-H20L Cache: 4MB.

I downloaded all the latest firmware updates for this burner. I have an i7 computer with 6 gig RAM and a very high end video card with 1 gig Rram. All the equipment is brand new.

What is wrong? Possibly the LG burner is not recognizing the BD-Rs. Why?

Did you install the software that came with the LG burner? I had the same problem until I installed the software that came with it. It would not recongnize any bd discs.
