I have used Gotsent to convert .mkv to PS3 format. I tried on the "PS3" setting alone, than also on MPEG4 HD, as the source is a HD video. I wanted to watch my video on my PS3. The image looked right when I looked at it using RealPlayer on my PC, but when I tried saving it to a USB memory device and playing it on my PS3, the image appeared razor thin. It spanned the width of the screen, but was thin as a pancake. I tried to play with settings on the PS3, such as zoom, but could not resolve the issue. what am I doing wrong?

    Try instead mkv2vob or multiavchd.

Thanks for the tip. I tried multiAVHCD which did a nice job of converting on the computer. I burned the data to a DVD, and tried to play it on my PS3, while the video played nicely, there was no sound. There was sound on the computer. I initially burned only the .m2ts files on separate DVDs, this played video only. I tried burning the entire BDMV and HDAVCTN folders, and still the PS3 sais that there is no audio. I pressed the audio button on the remote and it says that there is no audio. When I watch the home videos on the computer, I play it using Zoom player, and it plays the .m2ts file with sound, no problem.
In audio, i checked off "keep all audio tracks" and "use ffmpeg when needed"

thanks for the help before, I am a nubie, and was hoping you might be able to help a bit more.
    Thanks again.
