  1. Generally speaking, I prefer the look of the LCD for a computer monitor and the look of a CRT for television watching/gaming. There is something about the look of a CRT that you get used to though and I can see why it is hard to switch. LCDs are so much easier on the eyes though.

The one thing that sucks about LCDs is running emulators for various computers / gaming systems in their proper resolutions. They usually look terrible on LCDs anyways for all the obvious reasons, but not being able to change the resolution and having to settle with the results is kind of a killjoy. Luckily a lot of emulators will let you filter the graphics to make them look somewhat better on the LCD monitor, but it's still not quite the same and ruins the nostalgia factor for me. If I am doing any retro-gaming, I run my computers DVI out into my Sony KD34XBR-970, which yields much better results.

Most importantly for me, LCD does not give me eye strain or headaches. Text is so much clearer and cleaner too. Extended viewing of CRT monitors was very painful for me - good riddance.

Also - no convergence, purity and pincushion distortion to deal with - everything is straight and square. No high pitched whine from flyback transformers, and no static buildup on the front of the screen. Less heat generated. More available real estate on my desk.
