    Say, need an easy way to join avi/mpeg/vob files. Cutting/Splicing/cropping/joining, the more options the better but at least able to put two unrelated avi files together. And of course free is good. Tried looking through the forums but couldn't find it. Thanks.

    AviDemux, VirtualDub...I'm surprised using 'Search' got you nothing...

    Unrelated as in different specs? ie different dimensions, audio, fps, video codec, sampling rate...etc..? If so, you need to re-encode

    You can join them losslessly only if they are the same specs with the tools listed

    Hi, Thanks for your help by the way. loaded Avidemux but can't seem link any of the videos. Is there an instruction manual? Thanks a bunch. BTW. did try the search but not many relevant searches with key words AVI join &/or splice.

    Fire up Avidemux-->File-->Open--> browse to first avi and import-->File--> Append, and import second avi...
    However as noted above " You can join them only if they are the same specs"...
    I was going to post a guide link, but looks like it's already done...
